We will have the books, “33 Days to Merciful Love” in either this weekend or next weekend at the latest to begin the personal retreat beginning March 1st through Divine Mercy Sunday the Sunday after Easter.

This personal retreat is just reading and praying each day’s meditation. Then join us at St Luke’s Divine Mercy Sunday at 2pm for the sacrament of reconciliation and at 3pm for our Divine Mercy Service and Consecration.

You may ask what this has to do with lent? When the Lord came upon the earth, he came to forgive us our sins and reconcile us to the Father. He came to share with us His Mercy. The world however, does not accept His mercy, our culture says there is no such thing as sin, and we have no accountability for hurting others or ourselves. The only thing that matters is self-gratification. It is about me, getting what I want, and doing it my way. When we live this way we hurt others, we have conflicts, more selfishness, and we lose our hope in anything beyond our selves causing loss of faith and leading in many cases to depression and despair.

Jesus tells us we are uniquely and wonderfully made and are children of the Father. Each one of us is loved so much that Jesus died for us but we all have flaws brought about by Adams fall and because of that, we do sin. There is however, no sin that Jesus will not forgive if we come to Him, repent of our sins, and ask for His forgiveness. Jesus then pours His mercy upon us because of His love for us.
Refreshing us and making us new in Jesus Christ. This is why the Sacrament of Reconciliation is such a beautiful sacrament. This sacrament is the fountain of Gods mercy made visible to us.

So, why should I consecrate myself to Divine mercy and take this personnel retreat? Jesus tells us in the diary of Saint Faustina that the world will never see peace until we accept His mercy. Through this retreat and consecration, we are asking the Lord to help this hurting world to come to His Divine Mercy. We can see each day the world around us in conflict and hatred with a lack of mercy and respect for the dignity of each person. We lack respect for the human person because of his or her age, color, religion, sex, etc. Jesus died for all of us, God made each of us uniquely and wonderfully made and wishes us all to come home to Him.

We are called to come to Jesus in our brokenness because of our sin and seek His mercy then we are asked to forgive others. We are asked to reach out to all about the love of Jesus Christ and stop this madness in this world one person at a time.

We are called to continue this wave of Mercy that Christ started at the cross and enflamed with Sister Faustina and wishes to continue with our consecration. Please help us save this world with God’s mercy by joining us with this personal retreat by picking up the book “33 Days to Merciful Love”. Then let us come together for a special Holy Week before Easter joining in the Easter Celebration then celebrating with us the following week as we join together at 3 pm celebrating what Jesus died and rose for, to bring His Mercy to the whole world.

During our afternoon service, we will pray the chaplet of Divine Mercy and consecrate ourselves to Divine Mercy.

We live in turbulent times, we need His Mercy more than ever, will you be part of the solution bringing peace to our world?

You remain in my daily prayer as we journey together towards God’s kingdom.

Deacon Pete

Dear Family of St Luke, Is Jesus asking you to help save the world through consecrating yourself to Divine Mercy on Divine Mercy Sunday?
